Supporters Trust Conference 2010 – supporter co-ops

A Better Vision for Football is a conference that aims to turn into action the new government’s pledge to ‘reform the governance arrangements in football to enable co-operative ownership models to be established by supporters’.

Starting on 12th June, the same day as England’s opening World Cup match agains the USA, the conference is part of the Supporters Trust Annual Conference 2010. The Supporters Trust are inviting everyone to IET on Savoy Place in London for the conference, debate and England vs USA live on a big screen.

Dave Boyle, CEO of Supporters Direct, which is leading the initiative, said: 'This conference is a rally for change in football – change in the way fans influence their clubs and change in the way the game is regulated.'

Ken Loach, the director of football film modern classic Looking for Eric– a film which features the theme of supporters’ trusts wiil be attending and the conference will also be addressed by Co-operatives UK secretary general Ed Mayo.

  1. Hi. Bit of a typo in your article. The conference is actually being hosted by Supporters Direct.’Supporters Trust’ is the name of the organisations we set up. Cheers.
