Credit unions across North Wales given broadband support

with one comment

Credit unions across North Wales have announced they will provide non-members with support to access the Welsh Assembly Government’s broadband support scheme.

The broadband support scheme enables individuals and groups in remaining Welsh broadband ‘not-spots’ to approach internet service providers directly, with the support of Welsh Assembly Government funding.

Successful applicants to the scheme are reimbursed for any costs incurred installing the broadband service by the Welsh Assembly Government, but can apply to their credit union if they need any support to pay for installation in the first instance.

Over 250 applications have been received for scheme since its launch in July, including interest from Caledfryn Credit Union in Denbigh, Clwyd Coast Credit Union in Rhyl, Llandudno and District Credit Union and Wrexham County Borough Credit Union have backed the scheme.
