Nominees for the overall UK-wide Social Enterprise Awards 2011 announced

The final of the Social Enterprise Awards is nigh!

In the past week, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have all announced their country winners. These winners will now go on to the UK awards, which take place on 30 March, with the top accolade of the night – social enterprise of the year – handed over by Labour leader Ed Miliband.

The nominees are:

Social Enterprise of the Year:

Blue Sky Development and Regeneration (England)
Newington Credit Union (Northern Ireland)
Golspie Recycling & Environmental Action Network (Scotland)
Co-options Ltd (Wales)

Social Enterprise Leader of the Year:

Fay Selvan, The Big Life Group (England)
John McMullan, Bryson Charitable Group (Northern Ireland)
Susan Aktemel, Impact Arts Projects Limited (Scotland)
Sharon Jones, Crest Co-operative (Wales)

Social Enterprise Start Up of the Year:

Lodsworth Larder (England)
Vi-Ability Educational Programme (Wales)
Hebridean Chocolates CIC (Scotland)
Dylan Quinn Dance Theatre (Northern Ireland)
